THE "ROLLER COAST" OF COSTA RICA

You can't really tell by the photos, but the Papagayo winds have hit - we were in 48.3 knots (55.5 mph), which is a LOT of wind.  Hurricanes start at 64 knots.

EXPLORING BAHIA BALLENA AREA

A welcome relief from the rockin' & rollin' coming in from the surf. It gets to be a bit tedious with the swells coming into the anchorages.

A Variety of Species in Costa Rica

Finding the variety of species a bit different on the Pacific side.  The trunk fish here are yellow compared to the spotted ones on the Caribbean side.

WORKING ON OUR BOAT IN EXOTIC PLACES

Ther's been a lot of repairs this year on the boat. The outboard motor has died on us twice now, the refrigeration went, the water maker has been repaired twice, the hot water tank has been replaced, the fresh water pump  has also been replaced.
On & on it goes, but we're getting things ticked off the list, one by one & all is good.

STREET SCENES FROM QUEPOS, COSTA RICA

QUEPOS, COSTA RICA

Dominicalito Beach & Quepos - a couple of the anchorages as we head north along the Costa Rican coastline. Mile after mile of mountainous, rainforest terrain. We are the only sailboat at any of these anchorages - it's just ourselves & the local fishermen. Of course, there's the mega marinas for the sport fishermen, which this area caters to.

GOLFITO DULCE, COSTA RICA

Our first stop in Costa Rica - the Golfito. Stayed a couple of days here to check in & meet up with some of the local ex-pats living here. Had a great time at Tierra Mar & Banana Bay.

ISLA PERDIDA, PANAMA

Another beautiful & safe anchorage heading north on the Pacific side of  Panama. We had the bay all to ourselves except for the local fishermen.

BAHIA HONDA, PANAMA

Beautiful anchorage. The locals celebrate for 5 days before Lent. Here we are with Moses who wanted to practise his English with us. Domingo & Kennedy also befriended us, but that was to use Peter's expertise on generators!! They quickly realized they got the wrong guy for that one!
