WELCOME TO TRINIDAD, CUBA

Trinidad is a perfectly preserved Spanish settlement, but  in 1988, Unesco declared it a World Heritage Site & the tourists come by the busloads now. We found the street hustlers to be just a bit too annoying for our liking, but the historical element was enchanting.

ARRIVING IN HAVANA (click on any photo to enlarge)

Havana was once a stunnning city, but much of it now is in disrepair. Some of the areas are under restoration & those buildings are beautiful. The strrets are full of tourists, mostly Europeans &  Canadian. The people here are incredibly friendly, which makes it a wonderful city to visit.

Some of the most prolific & largest lobster I have ever seen!! They were absolutely everywhere, but of course, we only took what we could eat.  It'll be awhile before I can eat another lobster!!

Another fabulous encounter with the local fisherman on this remote island off the east coast of Juventud. Jorge, Felix, Daniel, & Antonio were raising monkeys for AIDS research.

Met up with fellow cruisers from the Vancouver area, "Salange IV" & Janine & Gary from "High Five". Had a night on the town in Nueva Gerona on Isla de Juventud, the 6th largest Caribbean Island located off the S.W. coast of Cuba.
