SANTA ROSALITA, BAJA

Have to hole up in this copper mining town while a northerly blows through. Winds got up to 44 knots yesterday & today.  Trying to get across the Sea of Cortez to San Carlos on the mainland where we'll decomission the boat for the season.

ALONG THE BAJA CALIFORNIA SUD COASTLINE

Awoke at sunrise for a 10 hour "sail" to our next stop along the coast.  Ended up at Pulpita, unfortunately  a very rolly anchorage - not one of our better nights.

DAY TRIP INTO MISSION

Road into the interior of the Baja to see St. Javier Mission built in the 1600's by the Jesuits. Interesting desert scenery.

LA PAZ, BAJA, MEXICO

La Paz has a beautiful malecon which went from Marina Palimar to the dowtown core. Interesting sculptures & murals.  We were there over Semana Santa which is one of the busiest weeks of the year.

LOS MUERTOS

After a nasty 32 hour crossing with 25 knot winds right on the nose & pound, pound, pound, the Muertos anchorage was a very welcome sight. Stayed for 3 days as the winds were adverse for heading the 60 miles around to La Paz. It is unseasonably cold.
