GATO
This is a very pretty anchorage, but a little too rolly for us, so just spent the night & then left for better protection.
PUERTO ESCONDIDO
We had quite the ride into Puerto Escondido, but once in, very protected from the waves (but not the winds - 42 knts of them!!)
BAHIA CONCEPTION & SAN JUANICO
We spent 4 days in beautiful Conception Bay & then moved on to San Juanico, another bay protected from the ever present northerlies. We are getting some wonderful sails from the northerlies though!
SANTA ROSALIA, BAJA SUR
Left the mainland & did a 10 hour sail to the Baja Penisula. Santa Rosalia is a very unique Mexican town. There's zero tourism here & it's very much a working class town relying on the copper mine. Not the prettiest of places, but wonderful people & so different from what we're used to. Really enjoyed it here!
NOVEMBER, 2018
Back in San Carlos, we got the boat put back together for our 13th season. The dinghy did not fare as well though because tropical storm Sergio ripped our canvas off & blew the dinghy off the bow of the boat. Inflatables do not do well going for "walk abouts" in the boat yard. We'll get it sorted out. Meanwhile, we had our "family" (Adrianna, Javier, Andrea & Jimena) from Hermosillo come to visit us.

SANTA ROSALITA, BAJA
Have to hole up in this copper mining town while a northerly blows through. Winds got up to 44 knots yesterday & today. Trying to get across the Sea of Cortez to San Carlos on the mainland where we'll decomission the boat for the season.
ALONG THE BAJA CALIFORNIA SUD COASTLINE
Awoke at sunrise for a 10 hour "sail" to our next stop along the coast. Ended up at Pulpita, unfortunately a very rolly anchorage - not one of our better nights.

AT ANCHOR IN AGUA VERDE
Typical beach side restaurant- great fish tacos. Peter helping out Manuel. Rowed out to our boat with a broken engine & Peter fixed it! Manuel went away a happy camper.

LA PAZ, BAJA, MEXICO
La Paz has a beautiful malecon which went from Marina Palimar to the dowtown core. Interesting sculptures & murals. We were there over Semana Santa which is one of the busiest weeks of the year.
LOS MUERTOS
After a nasty 32 hour crossing with 25 knot winds right on the nose & pound, pound, pound, the Muertos anchorage was a very welcome sight. Stayed for 3 days as the winds were adverse for heading the 60 miles around to La Paz. It is unseasonably cold.

OLD MAZATLAN
Bus trip into the Old Town of Mazatlan. Only able to spend 3 days & then have to move on to cross the Sea of Cortez.

LA CRUZ SUNDAY MARKET
Last market day with friends off of Blue's Blue, Jim & Jeanette. They'll be heading off on the "Puddle Jump" - from Mexico to the Marquesas, about a 3 week trip.

First of my family to come down to the boat. Spent time in Barra de Navidad & then for a sail to Tenacatita.

LAST NIGHT ON THE TOWN
Took the water taxi over to Barra for a final night of tacos & beers. Always so sad to end the good times.
BEACH BOCCE
Testing out Peter's new Christmas present, followed by shrimp empanadas & a nice cold one or two! Matt & Joelle kayaking back & of course, the pre-requisite dump!
CHRISTMAS - FEBRARY 14th!
Changed our Christmas celebration to February when everyone could make it - spent it in Tenacatita Bay.
LA MANZANILLA
Sailed to LA Manzanillo where Joelle & Matt bought a hammock while waiting for "best ever" fish tacos at Pedros.
A DAY SURFING & THEN OUT FOR EL PASTOR
Brett tried his hand at surfing while Meghan did the boogie board - Matt and I guarded the beach. Treated ourselves to tacos on the street.
